Tragedy Strikes Sokoto SSG As He Loses Daughter, 3 Grand Children to Fire Disaster

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that as gathered that the Secretary to the Sokoto State Government, Alhaji Muhammadu Bello Sifawa was early Monday morning hit by tragedy as he lost his daughter and 3 of his grand children to an inferno that consumed his residence.

OTN News further reports as gathered that the fire which broke out early Monday morning consumed the residence of the SSG while the family were sleeping.

OTN News also learnt that the husband of the SSG’s daughter, survived the inferno.

Furthermore, operatives of the state fire service who were said to have battled the inferno for many hours before they were able to overcome it were still investigating the cause of the fire disaster. 

OTN News also learnt that the incident has thrown the Sokoto State government officials and members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) in the state into mourning.

Reports indicate that Sokoto deputy Governor, Eng Idris Mohammed Gobir, led members of the state executive council, APC stalwarts on condolence visit to the SSG.

Also, friends and well-wishers have been trooping to Sifawa for burial rites and condolence of the deceased.

The remains of the deceased housewife and her 3 children are however, slated for burial at Sheikh Shehu Usmanu Danfodiyo Mosque Sifawa at about midnight today at the family home of the SSG.
