Oyo Hosts Social Media Influencers, Begins Golden Jubilee Celebrations Week Today with Anniversary Public Lecture

Ahead of activities marking the 50th anniversary of Oyo State’s creation, Oyo state government has hosted social media influencers in he state to a social banquet where it further briefed them about the celebration which begins today with the opening ceremony holding at the International Conference Centre of the University of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports as gathered that the 50th Anniversary Committee Chairman, Saheed AAkinade-Fijabi who hosted the influences on Sunday said that Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde is expected to deliver a welcome address at the ceremony, which will feature drum performance, documentary presentation on the state, goodwill messages and a poetry session.
Oyo State was created on February 3, 1976 by the General Murtala Muhammed administration.
The week-long anniversary activities lineup continues on Tuesday with with a special medical outreach programme for Oyo residents who are aged 50 years and above across the 33 local government areas of the state and an open air film show.
OTN News correspondents Ibadan, Damilare Adebesin and Damilola Philips report that the ancient city of Ibadan has already been been wearing a new celebratory outlook since last week with heightened outdoor advertising presence in strategic locations across the largest West African city.
