The IGP's Yuletide Felicitations was contained in a press release by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi who revealed that, "The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, extends heartfelt greetings and warm wishes to all citizens celebrating this joyful time of the year on behalf of all officers of the Nigeria Police Force."
The statement further reads,"In this delightful moment to come together with family and friends, to share in love, peace, and the spirit of giving, the NPF wishes everyone safe, joyous, and memorable festivities.
The IGP therefore counselled that "As we commemorate the festive season, it is also vital to prioritize the safety and well-being of all. Therefore, the Force once again reiterates its commitment to ensuring that our communities across the country remain safe as the festivities unfold.
To this effect, the Inspector-General of Police has ordered Police Operatives to remain on heightened alert during the holiday period. Comprehensive safety measures are being implemented, and patrols will be intensified in areas of festive events and gatherings.
The Nigeria Police Force urges you to remain vigilant and practice safety precautions. As we partake in the spirit of giving this Christmas, let us also embrace one another so as to key into the doctrines of the season. Together, we can ensure that this festive season is not only cheerful but safe for all.
In a related development, the Ogun State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has wished the good and law-abiding people of Ogun State a Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year.
CP Ogunlowo, in a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Police Command Headquarters, Eeweran Abeokuta, SP Omolola Odutola, CP Lanre Ogunlowo PhD, will, by himself, be actively overseeing operations and coordinating with Area Commanders to support officers, deploying a force of 7,777 police officers across the state.
She further revealed that the Operations Department is well-equipped to respond firmly to all threats while key locations such as places of worship, parks, recreation centers, government buildings, banks, and homes of diplomats will benefit from significant police presence. The Command is working alongside other security agencies to provide a comprehensive security strategy aimed at ensuring peace and safety in Ogun State during this festive season.
She further assured that spots such as: Long Bridge, Rounder, Sapaade, Ogunmakin and others will be monitored by armored patrols.
Additionally, specialized units like SWAT, Anti-Cultism and Anti-Kidnapping will conduct regular patrols around educational institutions.
While encouraging members of the public to cooperate with security agents and respect the personnel on duty, who are working hard to keep everyone safe by adhering to basic security protocols.
