Kemi Badenoch Launches ‘Radical Borders Plan,’ Vows To Deport 150,000 Illegal Migrants Annually

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports as gathered that the leader of the United Kingdom’s Conservative Party, Kemi Badenoch, has unveiled what she described as the “toughest border reforms Britain has ever seen,” announcing a new immigration policy aimed at deporting 150,000 illegal migrants annually under a sweeping initiative called the Radical Borders Plan.

OTN News further reports as gathered that Badenoch in a video message posted on her X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday, introduced a new Removals Force, modelled after the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), to enforce mass deportations and strengthen Britain’s border control operations.

According to her, "my message is clear: if you’re here illegally, you will be detained and deported."

The Conservative leader sharply criticised successive Labour and Conservative governments for failing to stem the surge of illegal migration, describing their approaches as weak and ineffective.

She accused the Labour government of overseeing “record levels of small boat crossings” and “wasting billions of pounds on asylum hotels.”

She said, “today, I’m launching our Radical Borders Plan, the toughest reforms Britain has ever seen to border laws and operations. Successive governments have failed on immigration. Labour promised to smash the gangs.

Instead, in just a year, they delivered record small boat crossings — over 50,000 illegal arrivals, 32,000 people in asylum hotels. Billions wasted. It’s pure weakness,” Badenoch said in her announcement video.

Outlining the key elements of her plan, Badenoch said the policy would include: Banning asylum claims for all illegal entrants; Withdrawing from the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR); Repealing the Human Rights Act; Deporting all illegal arrivals within one week of detention; Removing legal obstacles to mass deportations; and Imposing visa sanctions on countries that refuse to repatriate their citizens.

According to her, these measures are designed to “shut down the asylum hotel racket,” save taxpayers billions of pounds, and restore public confidence in Britain’s border enforcement system.

“Only the Conservatives have a serious, credible plan to deliver stronger borders,” Badenoch asserted. “If you come here illegally, you will be deported.”

The announcement marks one of the most hardline immigration proposals in recent British political history and signals Badenoch’s determination to make border control a defining issue ahead of the next general election.

OTN News however, observes that observers said that the Radical Borders Plan could reshape the national debate on immigration, sovereignty, and human rights, potentially setting up a legal and political confrontation with both international institutions and domestic opposition parties.
