Valentine Day: Inferno Razes Shops at Computer Village Lagos
Barely 12 hours after an explosion rocked Toyin Bus Stop in the Iju Ishaga axis of Lagos state, another fire accident has occurred at the Ikeja Computer Village in the early hours of Valentine's day.
Open Television gathered that the Computer Village fire accident took place in the early hours of Wednesday February 14 affecting many shops located opposite Awolowo glass house.
Official statement from the Lagos State Fire service on the cause of the fire accident and the degree of damage done as at the time of filing this report but sources within the Computer Village have disclosed that goods and property worth millionaires of naira have been lost to the Valentine's day inferno.
Open Television reports that men of the Lagos State Fire Service have swung into rescue action immediately, thereby curtailing the spread of the fire to other shops within the area.
Meanwhile a statement credited to the Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Adekunle Ajisebutu has it that the fire outbreak emanated from one of the shops. It reads in part:
“There was a fire incident at 18, Otigba Street, Computer Village, Ikeja early hour of today. The fire engulfed a shopping complex.
“As soon as the report was received, firefighters were contacted and they arrived immediately. Policemen were drafted there to protect the Fire fighters and others.
The Police spokesperson further revealed that “The fire has been put out successfully. No life was lost in the incident. However, valuable property which estimates are not yet known were destroyed,”
