Final Year OAU Student Struck Dead By Over Speeding Vehicle On Her Way To Submit Final Project
Tragedy struck at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife on Thursday when a final year student got struck and killed by an over speeding vehicle on the Ife-Ibadan expressway while on her way to submit her final year project

A final-year student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Esu Rita, tragically lost her life on Thursday after being struck by an speeding vehicle on the Ife-Ibadan highway.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News gathered that she was on her way to campus to submit her final year project when the tragic accident occurred.
According to witnesses, Rita was attempting to cross the road when she was hit by the Lexus vehicle traveling at high speed.
The University's Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Olarewaju, confirmed the incident, identifying the student as a final-year student in the Department of Foreign Languages.
She was hit by a Lexus car with Abuja registration number ABJ 427 LQ, driven by one Lasisi Sodiq Segun.
OTN News gathered that the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) retrieved her body and transported it to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital's mortuary, while the driver has been taken into custody for further investigation.
Meanwhile,the Vice-Chancellor of the University Professor Simeon Bamire has expressed his condolences to Rita's family, describing her death as "the loss of a young, promising student so close to graduation"
