President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Nigerian Muslims as they commemorate this year’s Eid Maulud, the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad.

In a statement released by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga on September 15, 2024, President Tinubu highlighted the importance of emulating the Prophet's virtues, particularly his purity, selflessness, perseverance, kindness, and compassion.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News gathered that in his message, the President urged the Muslim community to use the occasion for deep reflection on the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet.

"As we mark the Maulud, we should all reflect on the life lived by Prophet Muhammad, exemplified by purity, selflessness, perseverance, kindness, and compassion. We must endeavour to imbibe those virtues," he stated.

The President also called on Muslims to dedicate the Maulud holiday to prayers for the nation, emphasizing the need for empathy and compassion toward one another during these challenging times.

He encouraged the faithful to use this period as an opportunity to foster unity and peace in the country.

This year's Eid Maulud, a significant occasion in the Islamic calendar, offers an opportunity for both celebration and contemplation, as Muslims across Nigeria reflect on the Prophet's teachings and their relevance in today’s world.
