Tinubu, Amosun, Other Prominent Nigerians Shower Encomiuns on Late Islamic Cleric, Sheik Muyideen Bello

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has led other prominent Nigerians to condole with the Muslim community in Nigeria over the death of popular, Ibadan-based Islamic clerick, Sheik Muyideen Ajani Bello.

The Nigerian President who expressed his condolences via his official x handle on Saturday wrote, "Today, I share in the pain of loss with the Muslim Ummah over the passing of the highly revered Islamic scholar, Sheikh Muyideen Ajani Bello, at the age of 84," adding that "Sheikh Bello lived a life dedicated to serving Almighty Allah and humanity. He used his unusual insight into the Holy Quran, depth of wisdom, and extraordinary gift of interpretation to provide peace, comfort, and guidance to many."

Describing the late clerick as a man who discovered his calling in life at an early age then stuck to it passionately till death, President Tinubu acknowledged Sheikh Bello’s steadfast position on charity, peace, and civil order and his frequent counsel to leaders on the importance of trust, honesty, and fairness as the cornerstones for good governance, praying that Almighty Allah receives his soul, grants him eternal rest, and comforts his family and loved ones. May we all strive to honour the profound legacies he leaves behind".

Similarly, former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has also condoled the Muslim Ummah on the death of the notable preacher and global Islamic preacher known in Yoruba language as "Oniwaasi Agbaye".

OTN News further reports that in a release by Lanre Akinwale of Senator Ibikunle Amosun Media Office, the ex-governor noted that Sheikh Bello lived a fulfilled and impactful life.

“As a religious leader, Sheikh Bello was always available to provide counsel to people in power and those in need. He was pious and stoic in his lifestyle. He was frank, honest, and ever committed to such laudable values of peace, honesty, integrity, and co-existence of people of different religious persuasions.

“As a cleric, his preaching was very impactful, not only in South West Nigeria but also in the northern part of the country, where he established himself as a religious leader of note,” he stated.

Amosun however prayed that the Almighty Allah would grant him Aljannah Firdaus and give the notable family that he left behind the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

Meanwhile, torrents of encomiuns have continued to pour in from prominent Nigerians, state governors and the Islamic community about the virtues and legacies of the late Islamic clerick.
