Team Ogun has boosted its medal count to 20 at the ongoing 2024 National Youth Games in Asaba, securing 5 gold, 6 silver, and 9 bronze medals.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News gathered that in gymnastics, Abdulrasaq Abolaji claimed Team Ogun's first gold in the Floor Artistic Gymnastics event. He went on to win another gold in the all-around category and a bronze in the pommel horse competition.

The shooting team delivered an outstanding performance, winning 3 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal. 

Atinuke Onabiyi won gold in the Female 10m Air Rifle event, earning her a spot on the national team for the upcoming Olympics.

Onabiyi also shined in the Mixed Rifle Event, setting a national record with a score of 502.1. Alongside teammate Idowu Tobiloba, she clinched another gold medal for Ogun State.

In athletics, the mixed 4×400m relay team secured a bronze, as did the male 100m relay team.

The table tennis teams, however, fell short in both the male and female doubles matches.

The Para-Table Tennis team contributed 2 silver and 1 bronze medal to Ogun's tally. 

OTN News reports that Raji Aisha earned 2 silver medals in the girls’ singles and mixed doubles events, while Tobi Ogunyemi secured a bronze in the boys’ singles.

In golf, Adams Makareem added a silver medal in the Strokeplay event, closing the medal haul on Monday.
