Popular Nollywood Actress, Funke Akindele, has taken to social media to expose a fraudster, known as Prosper, who has been using her identity in a deceitful scheme to solicit money from the public.
OPEN TELEVISION Naija (OTN) News reports that Akindele shared a snapshot of the scammer’s tactics, showing how he was impersonating her by using her name and photograph to mislead innocent people into giving him money.
In one of the conversations she posted from WhatsApp, the fraudster boldly requested that a potential victim lend him the sum of N200,000, with the false promise of repaying the money by the next day.
She captioned her post, “Please be cautious! This is not me!! Prosper!!! E no go Prosper for you o!!! Thief!!!”
In response to this, Akindele issued a stern warning to her followers, urging them to be vigilant and not fall for the ploy.
She went on to remind the public to remain alert and avoid becoming victims of such scams, emphasizing the need for caution in dealing with unsolicited requests for money.
