Senator Ndume Begs Tinubu to Address Rising Food, Energy Costs Amid Economic Hardship, Calls For Urgent Action to Relieve Nigerian Families

Senator Ali Ndume of the ruling APC, representing the good people of Borno South has called on President Bola Tinubu to take immediate action to relieve Nigerians from the escalating costs of food and energy.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News gathered that in a public statement released in Abuja this weekend, Ndume expressed concerns over the sharp rise in the prices of fuel, food, and other essential goods, which has made life increasingly difficult for ordinary citizens, especially the most vulnerable.
He raised alarms about possible internal saboteurs working to undermine the administration’s efforts to build a lasting legacy for the nation.
"Some bad actors are attempting to turn the people against President Tinubu by pushing for harmful reforms and policies instead of focusing on controlling inflation and stabilizing the exchange rate, which are critical to alleviating the burden on Nigerians," Ndume said.
He voiced frustration that those bent on sabotaging the administration are pushing for unpopular reforms that worsen living conditions, while unfairly shifting the blame to the President when hardships increase.
OTN News further revealed as Ndume however urged the Government to prioritize the well-being of struggling families, who are suffering due to rising inflation and the skyrocketing costs of basic necessities.
"I believe President Bola Tinubu truly wants to improve the lives of Nigerians. However, some of his advisers may not have the people’s best interests at heart and are steering him in the wrong direction," he warned.
He stressed the importance of resisting negative influences that risk turning public sentiment against the Government.
Citing his observations from Borno State, Ndume said many families are unable to afford food, and farmers face crippling transportation costs, which further drive up prices.
"Many in Borno cannot afford to eat, and transportation costs are out of control, making even travel prohibitively expensive. This situation is causing extreme hardship," Ndume added.
In addition, he urged President Tinubu to swiftly address these pressing issues, noting that the patience of the Nigerian people is being tested by policies that continue to strain their purchasing power.
"President Tinubu must act quickly to prevent further suffering. Nigerians can no longer bear the heavy burdens imposed by those who seek to sabotage the state," he concluded.
