Presidency Debunks Reports of VP Shettima’s Blocked Access To Aso Villa, Says It's Mischievous

Following recent rumors and reports in some quarters that the

Vice President, Kashim Shettima was denied access to the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the Nigerian Presidency has debunked the reports, dismissing such as “mischievous”

Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications (Office of the Vice President), issued a statement on Saturday refuting the allegations.

Nkwocha described the claims as “totally fabricated” and intended to mislead the public into thinking there is a rift between President Bola Tinubu and his deputy. “The latest in this string of disinformation is a report claiming that the Vice President has been refused entry to the Villa,” the statement said.

The report, which alleged that military personnel barricaded the Villa entrance, was dismissed as “the wildest expression of wishful thinking.” Nkwocha accused those behind the rumor of attempting to sow discord within the government.

He noted the strong bond between the President and Vice President and recalled a similar false rumor about campaign posters earlier in the week. Nkwocha urged Nigerians to disregard the report and encouraged journalists to verify information from credible sources, assuring that Shettima remains focused on his duties.
