OnTheHighwayAfrica Honours Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, DG NADDC, OTN News CEO, Olufemi Orunsola, Others at Road Safety Campaigns Flag Off in Lagos

Mercedes-Benz Nigeria, Toyota Nigeria, the Director-General, National Automotive Design and Development Council (NDDC) with other significant corporate and individual players in Nigeria's automotive industry alongside Open Television Naija (OTN) News CEO, were on Wednesday honoured with awards of excellence by OnTheWheelsAfrica Magazine Africa led by Julie Chi-Nwaoha, National Coordinator, CSM FRSC Unit.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that the award ceremony, took place during the flag off of the 4th edition of OnTheHighwayAfrica Road Safety campaigns 2024 which held at the Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industry Hall, Ikeja Lagos.
OTN News further reports that Mercedes-Benz Nigeria was equally honoured with a 5-star Award of Excellence in recognition of the brand's stellar commitment to provision of world class safety features in the designs, structural and operational mechanisms of automobiles from its stable, blending class, luxury with safety over the years.
Responding, the representative of Mercedes-Benz Nigeria, Kingsley Uwatse, noted that the 5-Star Award of Excellence bears testimony to the brands globally acknowledged story of commitment to excellence in the automotive industry.
Similarly, Toyota Nigeria limited, ably represented by the Head, Parts Department, Ravinder Kumar Sharma bagged a 5-star Award of Excellence in recognition of the invaluable commitments and indisputable integration of vital safety features into the automobile designs, operational mechanisms and overall safe outlook of Toyota brands of automobiles over the years, in addition to support of road safety advocacy in Africa.
⁹Ravinder, who also bagged an award of excellence for his observed personal contributions to OnTheHighWayAfrica campaigns andvadvocacy since he assumed office as Head of Parts Department, appreciated the organizers of awards for giving Toyota Nigeria the 5-star award, noting that Toyota as an international brand remains committed to safety features and the overall safety of all end users of Toyota in Nigeria.
Other individuals, who have been partners of OnTheHighwayAfrica honoured with the Awards include: (NADDC), Joseph Osanipin, the Sector Commander RS 2.1 Ojodu, Lagos, Corps Commander Kehinde Hamzat, the Chairman of the Red Cross, Lagos chapter, Mrs. Dr.Mrs. Victoria Bola Kolawole, a former Managing Director, GM Nigeria, Engr. Saheed Johnson.
In the notable individuals category, selected individuals honoured with Awards of Excellence for their notable humanitarian services and road safety advocacy volunteering by OnTheHighwayAfrica at the flag off are: the Chief Executive Officer, Open Television Naija (OTN) News, Mr.Olufemi Orunsola, a member of the Celebrity Special Marshal unit of the FRSC unit who was recognized for his consistent reportage and advocacy campaigns on road safety over the years, alongside the Ogun State Coordinator of the CSM FRSC Unit, Hon.Kehinde Soaga (DGN).
Other highpoints of the Road Safety campaign was the delivery of a guest lecture on road safety imoeratives by Engr.Saheed Johnson, a multifaceted fire side discussion session with panelists who thrashed vital road safety issues associated with Nigeria in general and Lagos State in particular.
