The mile 6 community in the Obafemi-Owode local government area of Ogun State was thrown into a traumatic mourning mood on Sunday as the body of a 16-year-old girl, earlier kidnapped from the community was found dead on Sunday after payment of ransom to her captors.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News gathered that the young girl, Habeebat Akinsanya, a student of Lisabi Grammar School, Abeokuta, was kidnapped on Friday.

OTN News further gathered that the father of the teenager, who is a member of the So-Safe Corps, Mr. Akinsanya Aremu, had reported the case to the Kemta Police Station, Abeokuta, immediately after it occurred on Friday.

However, the kidnappers reportedly contacted him shortly afterward, demanding a ransom of N1 million for the release of his daughter.

Aremu swiftly complied to their request by transferring the ransom demanded by the captors to an Opay account provided by the kidnappers who had earlier given him a UBA account.

Unfortunately, the traumatized father got a rude shock on Sunday when the captors instructed him to pick up his daughter at a location near Obasa, a few kilometres from the OGTV/Mile 6 area, as he met his daughter's corps, savagely mutilated and covered with soldier ants.

OTN News gathered that the kidnappers had brutally murdered the girl, leaving her with multiple machete wounds all over her body.

OTN News further gathered that in a show of reckless cruelty and callousness, the kidnappers audaciously contacted Mr. Aremu on Sunday after killing his daughter, asking him to give them a second ransom, which he reportedly declined.

The tragic kidnap and murder of Habeebat has left the Mile 6 community, Obafemi Owode area of Abeokuta has left in rude shock and mourning, raising serious concerns about the safety and security of people in the area as well as other parts of the state.

The victim, Habeebat who was set to enter SS 3 and would have turned 17 in October has been reportedly buried by her family.
