Mass Killings: As Promised, Tinubu Lands in Benue to Meet Key Stakeholders to Discuss Ways to Curb Violence, Restores Peace

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that as part of efforts to address the recent mass killings, violent attacks in Benue State, the president of the federal republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has arrived at the state capital, Makurdi on Wednesday afternoon as promised.
OTN News further reports that the president who touched down at the Makurdi Airport, located at the Nigerian Air Force Tactical Air Command Base, around 12:58 p.m, is scheduled to visit the Yelwata community in Guma Local Government Area, one of the areas affected by the deadly attacks.
He is expected to meet with key stakeholders to discuss ways to curb the violence and restore peace in the state.
OTN News had earlier reported that the president, announced on Monday that he would visit the state on Wednesday, following heavy backlash from Nigerians who called him out for failing to empathise with the families affected by recent attacks by gunmen in the North-Central state.
However, in honour of the presidential visit, the state governor, Hyacinth Alia, declared Wednesday 18, 2025, public holiday.
