In a bombshell teaser for the Podcast episode, OPEN TELEVISION Naija reports that comedian Igwe revealed the stunning reason behind his breakup with former collaborator, Mark Angel.
Igwe alleged that he discovered he and the crew were being cheated out of their rightful earnings, and he claimed he was the mastermind behind Mark Angel Comedy's early success.
Igwe stated that he was responsible for filming and creating content for Mark's Facebook page, but was left in the dark when the page became monetized.
He claimed he didn't receive a share of the profits until 2016, when Mark handed him a meager N50,000 after purchasing a car for himself.
Furthermore, Igwe alleged that Mark was paying one of the crew's top stars, Emmanuella, a monthly stipends/allowance of N20,000, while the Facebook page was generating a whopping $160,000 monthly.
He expressed his hurt and betrayal, saying, "I was the one who started Mark Angel Comedy. I'm an orphan, and Mark was like an elder brother. He was a security guard at Kilimanjaro, GRA, Port Harcourt."
Igwe revealed that he learned camera work from a man called Ifeanyi, he took one of Ifeanyi's camera and began creating comic videos with Mark Angel in their free time.
However, Mark suggested posting their content on a Facebook page, which Igwe agreed to, unaware of when the page became monetized.
Despite continuing to film, Igwe received no payment.
Igwe emphasized, stating that In 2014, Mark purchased a car, claiming it was a gift, which Igwe believed. Meanwhile, Emmanuella started receiving a monthly salary of N20,000, while her parents remained unaware of the page's revenue.
He further laments that It was until 2016 he received his first payment of N50,000 from Mark, who significantly downplayed the comedy's earnings.
However, Igwe exposed the truth, revealing that Mark Angel Comedy's Facebook revenue was actually generating a whopping $160,000 monthly at the time, a stark contrast to the meager amount he received.
