The daughter of President Bola Tinubu, Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, and Iyaloja General of Lagos State, has cautioned market women in Lagos to dissuade their children from participating in the upcoming August 1 hunger protest.
OPEN TELEVISION Naija reports that during a meeting with market women on Sunday, Tinubu-Ojo urged the market woman to warn their children about the potential dangers of joining the #EndBadGovernance protest.
Tinubu-Ojo spoke in Yoruba In a video that has gone viral, highlighting the progress made by the Lagos State Government and appealing for support.
She also emphasized the need to give the Federal Government, led by her father, time to prove itself before criticism.
Tinubu-Ojo warned, "Let's advise our children and families that protesting in Lagos is not beneficial; it's a plot to destroy the country. Remember the damage caused by the last protest. Let's not allow our children to be used as pawns in a political game, even if a party is funding some individuals to cause chaos."
In a recent address, Tinubu-Ojo and Iyaloja General of Lagos State, urged citizens to refrain from participating in the planned protest in Lagos.
She praised the Lagos State Government, saying, "They make us proud, happy, and give us a sense of belonging."
As gathered by OPEN TELEVISION Naija, Tinubu-Ojo also cautioned against rushing to judgment on the Federal Government's performance, saying, "Let's give them at least three years before criticizing. Prevention is better than treatment, we must prioritize safety and avoid loss of lives."
"Following the protest announcement, President Tinubu has been engaging in consultations with various stakeholders, including religious leaders, traditional rulers, Governors, and security agencies, to discourage citizens from joining the nationwide protests sparked by economic hardship and soaring food prices," She emphasized.
