"I Am Alive, Hale, Hearty, and in Excellent Health", Former Anambra Governor Willie Obiano Says, Debunks Death Rumours

Former Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano has debunked reports circulating on social media, claiming he had passed away, dispelling the reports as unfounded rumours while assuring the public that he is hale and hearty.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that the former Anambra State governor made the rebuttal in a statement released on Friday evening.

Obiano, who described the reports as baseless and the handiwork of mischief-makers, said he was surprised to wake up to news of his alleged death, stressing that he remains “alive, hale, hearty, and in excellent health.”

In his words, "By the special grace of God, I am doing very well."

Obiano expressed disappointment that some individuals continue to circulate falsehoods for reasons he said were difficult to understand.

While maintaining that such actions would not deter him from fulfilling his mandate in life, Obiano extended his gratitude to the many people who reached out with calls, messages, and prayers after the rumour surfaced online.

“Your love and goodwill mean more than words can express,” he noted.

He therefore urged the public to disregard the speculation entirely, adding that he remains focused, grateful, and guided by God’s grace.

My beloved Ndi Anambra, friends, and well-wishers,

I woke to hear of a rumour making the rounds about my wellbeing.

Let me assure you personally:

I am alive, hale, hearty, and in excellent health.

By the special grace of God, I am doing very well.

It is unfortunate that some individuals still find joy in spreading falsehood simply for reasons yet to be established. But we will continue to rise above such mischief.

To everyone who reached out with calls, messages, and prayers, I sincerely appreciate your concern. Your love and goodwill mean more than words can express.

Please disregard the rumour entirely.

We remain focused, grateful, and guided by God’s grace.
