FAKE NEWS DEBUNKER: 2025 WASSCE Not Cancelled – WAEC
Contrary to fake news that surfaced on some online platforms over the weekend alleging the cancellation of 2025 WAEC Examination results, the regional body has debunked the reports, describing it as fake and a fictitious imagination of the purveyors of the fake news.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News repirts that the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has debunked a news purporting that the regional examination body has cancelled results of all 2025 examinations in Nigeria.
OTN News further reports that the examination body has described as fake and fictitious, the statement credited to the Federal Ministry of Education that this year’s Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (SSCE) has been cancelled.
The body's Public Relations Officer, Moyo Adesina, said the statement was not only fictitious, but a figment of the imagination of the purveyors of such a news item.
The spokesperson of the exam body further said the marking of the exam scripts were being concluded and the results would be made public soon.
Adesina added that the exam body would come out with a full statement on the matter later in the day.
She therefore called on the public to disregard the news.
