OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the former governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, on Tuesday said that the presidency will return to the northern region after President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

OTN News further reports that the former governor disclosed this when he received a delegation from a support group named Tinubu Northern Youth Forum (TNYF) at the APC secretariat in Abuja.

According to him, “When a leader from the northern part of this country was in office for eight years, we advocated that the next president in our party should come from the south. And luckily enough, we worked very hard with the cooperation of Nigerians,”

“Our president has come from the south and is going, Insha Allah, for a second term, 2027. And then after that, it will be the turn of the northern part of this country.” Ganduje added.

OTN News observes that the APC chairman’s comments came in the wake of reports that some politicians are scheming to form a coalition ahead of the 2027 elections to wrest power from the ruling party.

However, Ganduje described Tinubu as a “reformer, visionary leader” who is focused on repositioning the country for sustainable growth and development.

The former governor of Kano added that the president deserves appreciation for his precise approach to addressing the challenges he inherited upon assuming office.

“We are happy with his reforms because his reforms are absolutely necessary for the social and economic development of this country,”

“There is no doubt so many things went wrong over a long period of time, and there is no doubt it requires surgery before we can get it right.

“But we are happy that we have started seeing the outcome of the reforms, especially on the economic side, and we believe this will continue to yield positive results so that the legacy and the renewed hope agenda will be achieved.

“There is no doubt that many things went wrong over a long period, and it requires precision surgery to set things right. But we are happy that we have started seeing the results of these reforms, especially in the economic sector.” Ganduje said.
