VIDEO: Sights and Sounds of How Mapoly Rector, DS Adegbenro Polytechnic Rector, Others Shower Encomiums on Oladimeji at Retirement Ceremony

A floodgate of encomiums was today poured upon a former Director, School of Communication and Information Technology (SCIT), Mr Sabitu Gbola Oladimeji during his statutory retirement ceremony graced by the Rector, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Arc. Dr. Babatunde 'Koye Jolaoso, the Rector, D.S Adegbenro Polytechnic, Itori, Dr. Adegoke Raufu, alongside other staff members, family members and well wishers.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that the former Director, whose statutory retirement ceremony coincided with his 65th Birthday anniversary, was described in separate remarks by the Rectors of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta and D.S Adegbenro Polytechnic, Itori, as a peace-loving man whose track record of hard work, integrity, dedication to duty, passion for his discipline, being Office Technology Management, could not be in contention by anyone who ever had an opportunity to work with him.
OTN News further reports that Arc. Dr. Jolaoso congratulated Alhaji Oladimeji, expressing deep appreciation to him for his selfless years of meritorius service to the Polytechnic while praying that the Almighty Allah grants him sound health to enjoy his retirement age and, to eat the fruits of his years of labour in the Polytechnic.
In his own words, the Rector, D.S Adegbenro Polytechnic, Itori, Dr. Adegoke Raufu revealed that, "The celebrant was not only my successor as Director, School of Communication and Information Technology, at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, but an invaluable brother in Islam, who steered the affairs of the School with maturity, love for all, hatred for none and uncommon perseverance".
He further noted that, "Providence has indeed favoured the retiring celebrant who made humility and integrity his hall marks throughout his years of meritorius service to the Polytechnic."
Earlier, in his welcome address, the Director, School of Communication and Information Technology, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Dr. Sina Aina, observed that, "The fact that two Rectors graced the retirement ceremony and birthday of the celebrant, organized during the week amid Ramadan, with many people in attendance, bears ample testimony to the good will enjoyed by Alhaji Oladimeji, even among his family members, who turned up from Oyo state and Lagos state respectively, to celebrate him."
More torrential encomiums were subsequently showered on the retiring officer and birthday celebrant by a cross section of principal officers of the Polytechnic, union leaders, some staff members from the Department of Office Technology Management, where he once served as Head of Department, some family members as well as students of the department, who unanimously testified that Alhaji Oladimeji was a humble achiever, a disciplined goal-getter and peace loving man who treated his colleagues and students like his own family.
Highpoints of the retirement ceremony and 65th Birthday of Alhaji Sabitu Gbola Oladimeji are: cutting of his retirement cake, presentation of a beautiful portrait picture frame to him as a gift by the Department of Mass Communication, under the leadership of Dr. Wasiu Tejuosho, the presentation of gifts to the celebrant by members of the Department of Office Technology Management led by Dr.Mrs. Shotayo as well as the presentation of cash gift to him by the Department of General Studies under the leadership of Dr. Femi Olupe.
Other highpoints of the ceremony was: the emotional moment when one of the children of the celebrant who graduated from the Polytechnic, Folasade, got everyone moved close to tears of joy as she knelt down like a typical Yoruba lady before her father, in the presence of all guests present, in appreciation of the uncommon fatherly role being played by the celebrant in her life and the lives of her siblings.
The celebrant thereafter expressed his profound gratitude to God for sparing his life to witness his 65th birthday anniversary on the same day of his retirement ceremony after years of meritorius service to the Polytechnic.
He also appreciated all staff members of the Polytechnic, members of the SCIT, his work place family at the Department of Office Technology Management as well as the Rector of the Polytechnic, the Polytechnic Bursar, Mrs. Madariola and the Rector, D.S Adegbenro Polytechnic, Itori for making out time out of their business schedules to grace his retirement ceremony.
