As the United States of America formally joins the Israel-Iran war, bombing three nuclear sites in Iran, President Donald Trump has threatened to strike the Islamic Republic gain if it fails to end the war.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports as gathered from monitored international sources that President Donald Trump confirmed the bombing of three nuclear sites in Iran by the United States military.

In a social media post early on Sunday, Trump confirmed that the US military struck Iran’s nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan.

The attacks mark America’s direct entry into Israel’s week-long military campaign to destroy Iran’s nuclear enrichment facilities.

Trump tweeted early Sunday, “We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.

“All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home.

“There is not another military in the world that could have done this. Now is the time for peace.”

In a separate post, Trump announced that he would address Americans on the strikes while describing the attack as a “historic moment”.

He stressed, “Iran must now agree to end this war”, warning that the Islamic Republic “will get hit” again if it fails to embrace peace.

Meanwhile, Iranian government officials have confirmed the attacks on its nuclear sites, according to Tasnim News Agency.

Spokesperson of crisis management in Iran’s Qom province, Morteza Haydari, was quoted as saying that part of the Fordow nuclear plant was attacked by “enemy airstrikes”.

Similarly, security deputy governor of Isfahan, Akbar Salehi, said, “we saw attacks near the nuclear sites of Isfahan and Natanz”.

Earlier, Iran had threatened to retaliate if the US aligned with Israel on the military campaign.

Iran’s supreme leader,Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, had threatened that any US strike targeting his country would “result in irreparable damage for them”.

Similarly, lran's foreign ministry spokesman, Esmail Baghaei had earlier threatened an “all-out war in the region” if the US joins the war.

OTN News recalls that last week, Trump had announced that his decision and move against Iran could not be predicted by the media following reports that he had authorised a US attack on Iran.

He later said that his decision would be taken within two weeks depending on how Iran responds to the appeal to end the war.
