Trump,"EMI LOKAN OF AMERICA?,Says "We Will Be President in Four Months From Now"

In a move some political analysts in Nigeria have described as assuming the stand of the "Emi Lokan of America", the presidential candidate of the Republican Party in the United States election, Donald Trump has vowed to win the United States, US, presidential election in November.

OPEN TELEVISION Naija reports that Trump talked tough and with absolute tone of confidence while taking the stage at the Republican National Convention on Friday after accepting his nomination as presidential candidate.

The Republican presidential candidate known for his signature fist throwing gestures made this known while addressing an ecstatic crowd at Milwaukee in Wisconsin.

Trump said: “I stand before you this evening with a message of confidence, strength, and hope.

“Four months from now, we will have an incredible victory, and we will begin the four greatest years in the history of our country.”

“Together, we will launch a new era of safety, prosperity and freedom for citizens of every race, religion, colour and creed.”

OPEN TELEVISION Naija recalls that the event is coming days after the former US President had narrowly escaped an assassination attempt during his campaign in Butler, Pennsylvania.

A 20-year-old identified as Mathew Crooks had shot at Trump but only managed to hit his ear, but the assailant subsequently got killed by 

Secret Service Agents on duty while one person also lost his life in the process.

Political analysts and observers have thereafter observed that Donald Trump appears to be gathering unprecedented political sympathy and empathy from Anerican electorates following the failed assassination attempt on his life.

Donald Trumps declarations at the Republican convention on Friday therefore, readily plays back the self-assuring Abeokuta declarations of Nigerian President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the Presidential elections campaigns.

OPEN TELEVISION Naija recalls that Tinubu had on different occasions, spoke tough, and made confident declarations about becoming the next President of Nigeria, first with his insistence to be elected as Presidential candidate by the ruling All Progrssives Party,leading him to make the popular "E Gbe Kinni Yi Wa. Emi Lokan..." from which the "Emi Lokan" mantra evolved.

Tinubu, scaling other political hurdles purportedly set on his path to becoming Nigeria's president, had also made other declarations in the same city of Abeokuta to the effect that "Won o ba pa owo laro. Won o ba ko epo pamo. A ma dibo. A ma wole" (Meaning, regardless of their moves to change the naira note's colouration and the creation of artificial fuel scarcity, we will go to the polls and we will win the election).

One therefore wonders if Donald Trump belongs to the same political academy with the Nigerian President, as many Nigerians based in the United States now refer to Donald Trump as the EMI LOKAN OF AMERICA.
