National Transporters Games 2024 is An Unprecedented Game Changer Says Project Director,Sodeinde

In a mmovedescribed as unprecedented in the history of the world, Africa and indeed Nigeria, the Federal Capital Territory Abuja is set to play host to the first ever National Transporters Games, described as a game changer in sportsmanship history.

This revelation was contained in press statement made available to OPEN TELEVISION Naija on Thursday but the Project Director, National Transporters Games 2024 Hon.Wale Sodeinde, who made it known that the unique initiative is targeted at encouraging physical fitness, sportsmanship, unity in motion and talent discovery among the rank and files of Nigerian transporters.

According to Sodeinde, "the old narrative and stereotypes of seeing transporters as violent people who are touts are gone for good as there are many educated, talented and highly exposed individuals among transporters in Nigeria today."

The statement further reveals that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu(GCFR), has graciously accepted to be the Grand Patron of the first ever National Transporters Games in the history of the country as he is billed to declare the games open in Abuja at a glamorous opening ceremony to be hosted by the Honourable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Eno.

Hon. Sodeinde further informed OPEN TELEVISION Naija that the National Transporters Games will feature no fewer than 12 unions of transporters in Nigeria including unions of riders of motorcycles, popularly known as Okada in Nigeria, unions of tricycle riders and owners, truck owners and drivers, workers of Nigeria Railway Corporation, Petroleum Tankers drivers unions, aviation workers of Nigerian Airports as well as workers of inland waterways without excluding any known and duly registered union in Nigeria.

In his words;" The entire spectrum of transporters in Nigeria will participate actively in the National Transporters Games 2024 scheduled to take place later in the year, whether they work by road, on our expressways, rail system, in the air or on the waterways. We are holding talks with all the unions already and they are very cooperative and highly excited about participating in the National Transporters Games."

Sodeinde further revealed that the National Transporters Games will feature the various transporters unions as teams that will compete for trophies in games such as: Football, Athletics, Table Tennis, Boxing, Swimming, Draught and Ayo Olopon.

The visibly elated Project Director, Sodeinde told OPEN TELEVISION Naija that the unprecedented sporting event promises to be a game changer in the history of sports in Nigeria, Africa and in the world as it is loaded with other activities like Musical Concerts, Road Shows, Awards and Gala Night and Prizes, noting that a Brand New Car is slated to be won as the Star prize of the Maiden National Transporters Games 2024.

He also hinted OPEN TELEVISION Naija that the unusual sports event which is jointly packaged by the Federal Ministry of Sports Development in partnership with Joe Han & Partners is open to sponsorships from interested corporate organizations, noting that many sports hunters from abroad will grace the games in search of untapped talents.
