Tinubu Appoints New Governing Council For Abeokuta Federal University of Medicine, Medical Sciences, Other Federal Tertiary Institutions

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed a new Governing Council for the Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

OPEN TELEVISION Naija (OTN) News reports that the approval was conveyed in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President, Ajuri Ngelale, on Media and Publicity. 

The statement states that “The President expects that the new members of the Governing boards of these institutions will perform their functions effectively and creditably and within the ambits of their statutory responsibilities."

The Council is led and managed by a healthcare professional specializing in obstetrics and gynecology, Usman Shanawa while other members include Kabiru Yahaya, Chinenye Moses, Uyiosasere Ekhosuehi, and Joshua Adewale. 

The bill to establish the University was introduced by former Ogun State Governor and Senator representing Ogun Central, Ibikunle Amosun, and was signed into law by former President, Muhammadu Buhari.

Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta State:

Chairman — Temi Harriman

Members — Adeola Adeogun, Benedict Aguele, Freeman Kasa and Babangida Abdullahi.

Nigerian University of Science and Technology, Abuja:

Chairman — Rabe Bala

Members — Akinola Fagbemi, Rakiatou Bagnou, Alwel Egwurugu and Femi Osabinu.

Federal University of Agriculture, Bassam-Biri, Bayelsa State:

Chairman — Bram Baifa

Federal University of Health Sciences, Kwale, Delta State:
