The President of Ojere Igbayen, an alumni social group of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta (formerly Ogun State Polytechnic Abeokuta), Barrister Abdul-Hafeez O. Atanda-Shoremi has, on behalf of the group, congratulated one of their own, Dr.Adeola Ekine, on her latest appointment.

The President of the Alumni group, who is a Lagos-based legal luminary and realtor, in an exclusive interview with OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News over the weekend also lauded the decision of the President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Alhassan Yahaya, who appointed the female journalist as his Special Adviser (SA) during the week.

According to Barrister Atanda-Shoremi, "Tayibat Adeola Ekine has a beautiful soul and a happy spirit. She is a goal getter, an exceptional woman of class endowed with a winsome poise and intellect."

He further added that "Adeola Ekine, who is loved by all members of the Ojere Igbayen group, is a professional to the core, an admirable and amiable leader, a loving mother and a loyal wife. She is everything you may wish for in a woman. A beautiful role model for other women and the younger generations."

OTN News had earlier reports that Dr.Adeola Ekine's appointment took place on Tuesday 12th August 2025, in Kano State during the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the union.

Meanwhile, Barrister Shoremi reliably informed OTN News that as the Ojere Igbayen Group looks forward to its Annual General Meeting/Reunion for the year 2025 scheduled to hold between Fridayday December 12th and Sunday 15th December, 2025, Dr.Adeola Ekine has been penned down as one of the icons of the alumni group to be celebrated for their immense contributions to the group and the larger society.

For the records, Ekine is a highly respected journalist and public affairs specialist with extensive experience in media and communication.

Prior to her latest appointment, she served as the Chairperson of NAWOJ, Lagos Chapter, where she demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, dedication, and passion for promoting gender equality and empowering women in the media industry.

Other notable positions previously held by her included: Vice Chairperson and Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos Information Chapel.

Also, she had received an Honorary Doctoral Fellowship Award from the Institute of Public Sector Management (IPSM), led NAWOJ, Lagos Chapter in paying a courtesy visit to several Public, Private, and Cultural Organizations, promoting collaboration with NAWOJ to advance journalism and women’s empowerment.
