Sanwo-Olu Inaugurates World's Tallest Eyo Statute at Onikan Lagos

As part of activities marking the celebration of Eyo Festival in Lagos after eight years of hiatus, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has unveiled a magnificent record-breaking cultural monument, a 32-feet-high statute of Eyo believed to be the tallest statute ever made of the Eyo in the world.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that Mr.Sanwo-Olu commissioned the monument at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History in Onikan.
Speaking on the newly unveiled statute Sanwo-Olu said, "This is more than a work of art, it captures the spirit of our heritage and gives visitors a place to learn about Lagos and connect with our story."
The Governor emmphasizes that "This project was curated by Dotun Popoola, and I am grateful for the care, depth, and creativity he brought to it. The monument is a strong example of what Nigerian talent can achieve when given the space to tell our stories.
With this addition, the John Randle Centre @jrandlecentre becomes even more meaningful as a home for our history and traditions, a place built to preserve Yoruba culture for generations to come."
The event was witnessed by many prominent Nigerians and culture enthusiasts.
Sanwo-Olu in a post on his personal Facebook page, expressed his pride in the attainment chanting the Lagos mantra "My Lagos, your Lagos, our Lagos."
