Weekend Visit Tragedy:Man Lands in Police Net After Lady Who Visited Him Died in His House

A young man simply identified as Yinka has landed in the custody of the Osun state police after the mysterious death of his girlfriend, identified as Bidemi Omole, who died shortly after visiting his residence in Esa-Oke town.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports as gathered that Bidemi was said to have arrived at the home of her lover on Friday evening before she suddenly fell ill.

OTN News further gathered that the weekend visit turned tragic around 9:30 pm, throwing the entire Oke Esa community into confusion, as residents trooped to the scene.

According to a neighbour named Taye, who recounted the incident, the deceased had only just arrived at the house before tragedy struck. 

In his words, “We heard the cry for help and rushed to the house. Before I got there, security operatives had already arrived, but the crowd was much. It was shocking because she usually goes for vigil on Fridays."

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Osun State Police Command, Abiodun Ojelabi, has confirmed the incident, noting that the matter was reported on Saturday.

The Force Spokesperson explained that the deceased started vomiting not long after getting to Yinka’s house.

“She was rushed to a hospital but died on the way. The boyfriend, Yinka, is already in police custody. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of her death,” Ojelabi said.
