OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports as gathered that controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Olalomi, popularly known as Portable, is once again in the spotlight after he was reportedly arrested by the police following a complaint lodged by his baby mama, Ashabi Simple.
OTN News further reports as gathered that the development comes amid an ongoing public feud between the singer and Ashabi, who have been embroiled in a heated exchange on social media.
Both parties have taken to various online platforms to trade accusations, with Portable allegedly making claims that prompted Ashabi to seek police intervention.
A video currently circulating online shows the visibly distressed singer inside a police station, shedding tears while in handcuffs. In the footage, Portable appears emotional as he speaks to officers, sparking widespread reactions from fans and social media users.
The incident has generated mixed responses online, with some fans urging reconciliation for the sake of their children.
Several commenters noted that regardless of the breakdown of their relationship, Ashabi would still require Portable’s involvement and financial support in raising their children, given his responsibilities as their father.
Others, however, argued that repeated controversies involving the singer suggest deeper personal and legal issues that require serious attention.
OTN News observes that this is not the first time Portable has had an encounter with law enforcement. A few months ago, he was declared wanted by the Ogun State Government after his aides were accused of assaulting state officials during an altercation.
The incident drew significant public attention and further damaged the singer’s already controversial image.
Following that episode, Portable released a series of emotional videos and even recorded a song in which he pleaded with the Ogun State Government and appealed directly to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for intervention.
