Pope Leo's Inauguration: President Tinubu, Other Govt Officials Arrive in Rome

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that the president of federal republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his government officials have arrived in Rome, Italy on Saturday ahead of the inauguration of the Pope Leo XIV which was scheduled to take place on Sunday, may 18.
OTN News further reports that the presidency who disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, after landed at the Military Airport, Rome, at about 5.00 (local time), said that the president was received at the airport by some government officials who were already in the city of Rome.
OTN News observes that Tinubu who is in Rome at the instance of Pope Leo, who invited him to the Vatican City for his inauguration, would be attending a solemn mass, which is expected to mark the beginning of the inauguration of the Pope.
OTN News further observes that the event would take place at 10 am Rome time at the St. Peter’s Square on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
OTN News recalls that the pope was recently elected as the leader of the Catholic Church following the death of Pope Francis.
