"Prioritize Corporate Social Responsibility" Abiodun Charges Corporates As Gateway Games Lead Sponsor, Premium Trust Bank Opens New Branch in Abeokuta

Ahead of the take off of tNational Sports Festival 2025 hosted by Ogun State, Governor Dapo Abiodun has commended Premium Trust Bank, a lead sponsor ofvthe games, charging corporate organisations operating in the state to prioritize undertaking corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects to compliment efforts by his administration to make life better for Ogun people.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that Governor Abiodun made the call on Friday during the inauguration of the Abeokuta branch of Premium Trust Bank at Omida, in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.

The NSF host governor stated that the relevance of corporate organisations should not only be strictly viewed by their profit-making records but also in the impact they make through Social Corporate Responsibility (CSR) in the immediate community hosting such corporates. 

Abiodun commended Premium Trust Bank for the bank's track records of CSR projects, noting that the bank had, in the past, played an active part in national development through the sponsorship of sports and youth development programmes, including the last National Sports Festival held in Delta State and the current Gateway Games in Ogun State.

 “Let what Premium Trust Bank is doing serve as a blueprint for your Social Corporate Responsibility. It must not be an afterthought, but a core pillar of your operational philosophy," Abiodun charged other corporate organisations.

He further said, "Whether in supporting small-scale enterprises, education, healthcare, or environmental sustainability, your relevance would be defined not just by profitability alone, but by social impact.”

The governor emphasized that the establishment of a new branch of the bank in the State capital is an affirmation of the successful implementation of his administration’s vision through the ISEYA development pillars, just as it endeavors to bridge the rural-urban gaps.

Concluding, Governor Abiodun commended Premium Trust Bank, noting that it has, over the past couple of years, distinguished itself as a foremost financial institution by pursuing financial inclusivity and innovative services.

Other highpoints of the inauguration of the new branch of the bank in Abeokuta included cutting of the ribbon by the Ogun state governor as well as promotional give away by the bank to participants and prospective customers of the bank.
