In another significant move geared towards driving direct foreign investment to Nigeria from the United Kingdom, Pelican Valley CEO, Ambassador (Dr) Babatunde Adeyemo is set to storm London this July for the 10th anniversary of Avenue Impact, a UK-based business networking organisation, in the company of the Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News gathered that the anniversary, scheduled for July 5, 2025, as a unique Business Rendez-vous, will bring together a powerful mix of African and diaspora entrepreneurs, investors, mentors, and clients.
OTN News further reports that while Hon. Dabiri-Erewa is billed to grace the occasion as the Special Guest of Honour, the Pelican Valley boss will storm the event to leverage the event to pitch lucrative real estate investment opportunities back home.
Adeyemo, a multiple award-winning real estate entrepreneur, told newsmen in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital that the UK visit is part of Pelican Valley’s broader strategy to tap into diaspora wealth, particularly through its flagship project, Pelican’s Ecostay Apartments, a fusion of eco-living and smart luxury.
OTN News recalls that in 2024, Ambassador Adeyemo featured at Avenue Impact’s Business Networking and Winter Ball where he showcased Pelican Valley’s tech-driven smart homes.
OTN News gathered that his efforts with the diasporan tour have so far yielded investment from over 900 Nigerians in the diaspora with Avenue Impact members alone acquiring 48 plots of land and two houses. Some of them, including Madam,. Dolapo O, it was learnt, will be handed investment documents and property keys directly by the CEO during the anniversary celebration.
According to Adeyemo, the Ecostay Apartments, located within the Pelican Brief Estate in Ogun State, feature government-approved layouts, 33 KVA/500 KV power infrastructure with 90% solar backup, armed security, and interlocked roads. The next phase includes studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments as well as semi-detached duplexes with boys’ quarters tailored for upwardly mobile clients seeking smart investments.
Adeyemo further said, "This unique residential project also includes lifestyle additions like a lounge, bar, mini club, sports courts, places of worship, swimming pool, and even a mini zoo housing camels, ostriches, and peacocks."
He added that the Ecostay Apartments are just 20 minutes from Abeokuta’s Central Business District and 50 minutes from Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja. “With a zero per cent interest rate and no hidden charges, our repayment plan is diaspora-friendly."
Adeyemo noted that the value of Pelican’s two-bedroom apartment jumped from N28 million to N42 million within one year, highlighting not just the profitability but also the trust clients have in the brand. “We also help clients convert their homes into short-let apartments, thus ensuring steady rental income and long-term ROI.”
In a related move, the founder and CEO of Avenue Impact, Mr. Funso Akinwunmi, in a statement, said the 10th anniversary will highlight strategic partnerships, especially in real estate, with Pelican Valley at the centre.
“This collaboration shows the credibility Pelican Valley enjoys and offers a platform for its CEO to hand over investment documents in person,” Akinwunmi stated.
He added that the event would underscore the long-term financial benefits of investing in Nigerian real estate and the transparency that has come to define the Pelican brand.
