Ondo SSG, Tayo Oluwatuyi, Passes Away Weeks After Car Accident

Reports reaching the news desk of OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA OTN News have it that the Ondo State Government has announced the death of its Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi who passed away on Saturday January 4, 2025, weeks after his involvement in a ghastly car accident.

According to a statement signed by the Hon. Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Otunba Wale Akinlosotu, the late SSG sustained critical injuries in a ghastly car accident on Sunday, December 15, 2024 during a trip to Ibadan, Oyo State but he bowed to his injuries although he has been receiving medical attention after the accident.

The Commissioner described the late Hon. Oluwatuyi as a dedicated public servant.

Similarly, the Ondo State Government has highlighted the immense contributions of the deceased top government official to the development of the state through his administrative coordination, policy advisory, and implementation efforts.

The statement reads: “Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi served Ondo State with distinction and was an instrumental figure in the government’s drive for progress. His work as Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Commissioner, and as a two-time SSG, is a testament to his unwavering dedication and selflessness." 

Meanwhile, Ondo State government has extended its condolences to the family of the deceased, his friends, and associates.

 “We are deeply saddened by this loss and stand with the Oluwatuyi family in this moment of grief,” it added.

Hon. Oluwatuyi, who hailed from Akure, was known for his collaborative efforts with the Governor and other top officials across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

The state government has however assured that burial arrangements for the late SSG will be announced in due course.
