In line with the directives from the Inspector General of Police that Police formations across the country should priotitize medicare outreaches as part of activities marking the National Police Day 2025, the Ogun State Police command has put beams of smiles on the faces of vulnerable residents in the state through a free medical outreach.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports as gathered from a press release by the Public Relations of the Force in Ogun state, CSP Omolola Odutola, that the Ogun State Police Command under the leadership of CP Lanre Ogunlowo floated the free medical outreach in collaboration with Swipha Pharmaceuticals, Grace Awokoya Health Foundation, Oral Health Africa Initiative, and the Nigeria Police Clinic, hosted a free medical outreach on April 5, 2025 which held in commemoration of National Police Day, to cater for members of the public who were specially invited from far and near.

OTN News further reports that the free medical outreach turned out to be a practical demonstration of the fact that compassion is an innate quality of every dedicated police officer, the Ogun State Police Command, as beneficiaries of the outreach express gratitude for the kind gestures by the Police command in the gateway state.

OTN News gathered that earlier in the day, the State Chairperson of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA) led the charge alongside officers from the Command Headquarters in a 10,000-step walkathon, promoting physical fitness and mental well-being as part of a balanced work-life routine.

Following the walkathon, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, PhD, delivered a keynote address emphasizing the importance of maintaining a sustainable, healthy lifestyle.

Other highpoints of the event included impactful health talks:

 • Blood Pressure Management by Babalola Feyisope Oluwaferanmi

 • Prostate Health by Dr. Opeyemi Ilepe

Dr. Ihegboro Minachiso served as the host medical consultant for the outreach.

Beneficiaries received free consultations, including eye and dental screenings, blood sugar and blood pressure checks, personalized counseling, and access to a dispensary—all at no cost.

The outreach was a testament to the police force’s unwavering commitment to community care beyond security duties.
