Ogun Mourns As Former Three Times Commissioner, Deaconess Doyinsola Ogunbiyi Passes Away

The Ogunbiyi family has announced the peaceful passing of their beloved matriarch, Deaconess Doyinsola Ogunbiyi, on November 11, 2024.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports as that Deaconess Ogunbiyi, a three-time commissioner in Ogun State, led a life marked by devotion, service, and leadership.
In a heartfelt statement released by the family, they expressed gratitude for her impactful life and shared that arrangements for her final farewell would be communicated at a later date.
They invite friends, relatives, and well-wishers to join in celebrating her legacy and sharing cherished memories.
“We, her children— Oluwatosin, Oluwatobiloba, Boluwatife, and Olaoluwa and the Adesina family, announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Deaconess Doyin Ogunbiyi, with deep sadness yet gratitude for a life well-lived," the statement reads.
"She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and a trailblazer in her career as a broadcaster, commissioner, and advocate for the community."
A respected public figure, Deaconess Ogunbiyi made significant contributions to Ogun State, holding roles in various ministries and serving as the first female Commissioner of Works and Housing.
OTN News recalls that her dedication also extended to her role as lifetime Matron of the Ijamido Motherless Babies Home, Convener of Voice of Ogun Women, and active community leader.
Her warmth and wisdom touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed. The family has requested privacy during this time of mourning.
