NYSC Award: Tinubu to Honour Over 200 Outstanding Corps Members

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports as gathered that no fewer than 210 outstanding corps members will receive the prestigious President’s National Youth Service Corps Honours Award for their dedicated service between 2020 and 2023 as President Bola Tinubu is set to celebrate their exceptional service on Tuesday.
OTN News further reports that the Director of Media, NYSC, Mr Emeka Mgbemena, who disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday, said that the award ceremony will be held on Tuesday at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa at 11am.
According to him, the awardees are made up of 200 ex-corps members who excelled meritoriously in all four cardinal programmes of the NYSC.
He explained that, the programmes are Orientation Course, Primary Assignment, Community Development Service and Winding -Up/Passing-Out in the course of service in the 2020 to 2023 Service years.
“Others that will also be honoured by the president under the NYSC Hope Alive Initiative are 10 ex-corps members that suffered various degrees of permanent disabilities while serving their fatherland,” he said.
He, however, added that the Minister of Youth Development, Mr Ayodele Olawande, Director-General of NYSC, Brig.-Gen. Olakunle Nafiu and NYSC Management were looking forward to welcoming the award beneficiaries and guests to the event.
