NYSC Announces Dates for 2026 Batch A Corps Orientation Camp Excercise

The National Youth Service Corps has announced the date for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream I Orientation Course.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports as gathered that the Corps said the exercise will commence nationwide on Wednesday, January 21, across all 37 NYSC Orientation Camps nationwide.
A statement posted on the NYSC official X handle on Tuesday, has it that, “Camp Registration for all Corps Members will take place from Wednesday, 21st to midnight of Friday 23rd, January, 2026.
“The Swearing-in Ceremony holds on Friday, 23rd January, 2026, while the Closing Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 10th February, 2026.”
The Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, wished all prospective Corps Members safe travels to their respective states of deployment. He also advised them to avoid night journeys while travelling.
The management urged all Corps Members to adhere strictly to the orientation schedule to ensure a smooth and successful orientation programme.
The NYSC scheme aimed at fostering interpersonal relations among ethnic and religious divides was established in 1973 to promote national unity and integration in the aftermath of the Nigerian Civil War of which the three-week orientation camp was instituted as the entry point of suitably qualified graduates from approved tertiary institutions into the scheme.
Corps members are hosted to a regimented daily orientation programme, daily paramilitary drills, and exercise, motivational and practical skill acquisition trainings via the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme, lectures on national issues, cultural activities as well as daily Outside Briadcast Services (OBS) within the Orientation camp at the end of which Corps Members are posted to various Places of Prinary Assignment where they would serve the country.
