NUPENG Suspends Strike After Reaching an Agreement

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports as gathered the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has suspended its ongoing nationwide strike over its face-off with the Dangote Group, after both parties reached an agreement.
OTN News further reports as gathered that the strike was cut off after NUPENG and Dangote reached an agreement at a meeting convened by the Department of State Services (DSS).
OTN News recalls that NUPENG had on Monday declared a nationwide industrial action to protest the refusal of the Dangote Group to allow its workers to join the union.
However, the whole disagreement and drama were resorted after a meeting which the details of the agreement between both parties which led to the cut off of the strike, were not available at the time of filing this report.
OTN News observes that the meeting was attended by the Ministers of Labour and Finance, as well as officials of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
It was further learnt that Sayyu Dantata, a prominent Nigerian mechanical engineering and businessman, founder and CEO of MRS Holding, a pan-African energy company, led the Dangote management team to the meeting.
