The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has voiced frustration over the lack of accountability by relevant authorities in its quest for justice against the brutal attack on its president, Comrade Joe Ajaero, in Owerri, Imo State, one year ago.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reliably gathered from the NLC’s Head of Information and Public Affairs, Benson Upah that the union is bent on seeking justice over the maltreatment of Ajaero, who was reportedly abducted and severely beaten by State agents while leading a peaceful protest over unpaid salaries and pensions.

Left for dead, Ajaero endured over six months of medical treatment both domestically and abroad to recover his sight and bodily functions. The ordeal has not ended there.

OTN News recalls that recently, Ajaero was summoned by the police to address allegations related to terrorism financing, subversion, and treasonable felony and charges the NLC sees as an attempt to further intimidate him.

Despite assurances from the National Security Adviser, the NLC is troubled that justice has yet to be served. The organization calls for accountability, underscoring that Ajaero deserves justice and continues to stand by Nigerian workers.
