OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports as gathered that the Federal Capital Territory, (FCT), police command has arrested a 33-year-old Nigerian Army Personnel, Lance Corporal Yusuf Yunnusa, for attempting to sell a stolen vehicle.

OTN News further reports as gathered that a counter-insurgency expert focused on the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, disclosed this in a post on his X handle on Sunday.

According to the Makama, the suspect, who was attached to the 82 Battalion in Rukuba, Plateau State, was apprehended at about 16:30 hours on April 19 at Mamu Filling Station in Lambata, Kwali, following actionable intelligence that someone was attempting to sell a Toyota Corolla without documents.

“The security personnel swiftly launched a surveillance operation that resulted in Yunnusa’s arrest. A Toyota Corolla LE, with registration number ABC 570 FJ and an ash-colored exterior, was recovered from the suspect,” Makama added.

Furthermore, he stated that Yunnusa confessed during interrogation to stealing the vehicle from its parking spot at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja on April 17, 2025, around 1200 hours.

The security expert further stated that the suspect had brought the car to Kwali with the intention of selling it but was caught by the police before completing the transaction.

However, the suspect is currently in custody, undergoing further interrogation.
