Nigerian billionaire and Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has boosted the morale of Nigeria's Super Eagles and motivation to win the trophy at the on-going continental tournament following his pledge to give the Nigerian team the sum of $500,000 if they go ahead to win their semi final game against Morocco at the on going African Cup Of Nations (AFCONS).
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports as gathered that the billionaire and philanthropist made the promise on Saturday after the Eagles’ 2-0 victory over The Foxes of Algeria.
In a statement on his X and Facebook social media platforms, Rabiu wrote, "Congratulations to our Super Eagles players on a brilliant victory against Algeria."
“You have lifted the spirit of the nation, and we proudly cheer you on as you prepare for the semi-finals, he continued.
He then pledged, "To encourage you, I pledge USD $500,000 to the players upon winning the semi-final, with an additional USD $50,000 for every goal scored.
“Should you go on to win the final, I further pledge USD $1,000,000, plus USD $100,000 for each goal scored in the final.”
