Nigerian Actor Chris Bassey Explains Why He Turned to Plumber After Relocating To Canada, Says It Pays Better Than Tech Jobs

Actor and movie producer, Chris Bassey, has ventured into plumbing after relocating from Nigeria to Canada.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News gathered this during an Instagram live chat with Daddy Freeze, Bassey revealed that his new profession not only offers better pay than tech jobs but also provides a more laid-back lifestyle.

Daddy Freeze asked, “I know you as an actor and producer, so what career are you pursuing now in the States?”

Bassey responded, “I’m in construction; I’m a plumber here.”

Surprised by the career shift, Daddy Freeze questioned why Bassey made the move despite his success in entertainment.

Speaking in pidgin, Bassey explained, “In just the last seven months, the places I’ve visited on weekends in Canada, even people in tech can’t afford them. That’s how it is here; I don’t know about the UK or US.”
