Prioritize Investments in Education of Your Children to Secure Your Celebration at Old Age -Prof.Tope Popoola Advises Parents

A University Don and former two time Commissioner for Special Duties and Agriculture  in Ogun State, Professor Tope Popoola has urged parents to prioritize investments in the education of their children in order to secure an old age in which they will be celebrated by their children.

OPEN TELEVISION Naija reports that Prof. Popoola gave this advice in Abeokuta at Conference Hotel during the 80th birthday reception of Madam Esther Olufunke Sangobiyi, where he was the Chairman of the occasion on Saturday 13th July, 2024.

The University Don who gracefully coordinated the cutting of the oak jubilee birthday anniversary of Madam Esther Olufunke Sangobiyi observed that although the celebrant did not formal education, she and her late husband took it upon themselves to invest heavily in the education of their children, all of whom are now successful people in their various chosen careers. 

The first son of the celebrant Arch. Olawale Biyi led other children and grand children of the celebrant to pay glowing tributes to their mother, whom they emotionally described as a prayer warrior, loving mother and a strong woman who made incredible sacrifices for the education of her children.

One of the celebrant's children, Taiwo Jesubiyi who is a retired Commissioner of Police, describe his mother as a disciplinarian yet loving mother who made it possible for him to become somebody in life. 

The obviously elated celebrant Madam Esther Olufunke Sangobiyi observed that she owes God a huge debt of gratitude for the gift of life and grace to make sacrifices for her children to be educated.

Other dignitaries who graced the oak jubilee birthday reception are: Arc.Tokunbo Fowode(fnia,mni), a former Rector, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta, Chairman, Nigeria Institute of Architects Ogun State Chapter, Arc.S.OS Oladipo, the Director, Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta, Arc Olabisi Baiyewu, friends of the Sangobiyi's from the Diaspora, AfroGrams Alumni, Set of 1980, members of the Akintunde dynasty of Ilaro, Ogun state among others.

An Ilaro-based Creative group, TANIMOLA ASA rendered the native Oriki of the celebrant to her admiration and also performed choice selections of a unique brand of Yoruba traditional music known as Bolojo in Ilaro, the honestead of the celebrant. 

Similarly, popular Disc Jockey, DJ Kulio and Oba Ara Global Music band thrilled guests at the reception to melodious and upbeat music while multilingual Master of Ceremonies, Olufemi Orunsola of OPEN TELEVISION Naija compered the memorable event.
