Minister of Education’s Phone Number Hacked, Ministry Alerts Public Against Fraudulent WhatsApp Messages

The Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has raised an alarm to warn Nigerians to beware of fraudulent Whatsapp messages purportedly from the Honourable Minister, noting that the phone line of the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman has been compromised, with unauthorized individuals using his WhatsApp account.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News gathered from a statement released by the ministry's Director of Press and Public Relations, Folashade Boriowo, on Friday in Abuja that the public has been advised to ignore any requests coming from the compromised number until further notice.

"We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause," Boriowo stated. 

"The incident has been reported to the relevant authorities for investigation. We urge everyone to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities."
