MAPOLY Sets to Float Maiden Made-in-Mapoly Distinguished Entrepreneurs Awards, Picks Nollywood Actor, Hafiz Oyetoro As Guest Lecturer

As part of efforts geared towards grooming graduates with relevant industry-required skills and entrepreneurial mindsets, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (MAPCED) is getting set to host the maiden edition of Made-in-Mapoly Distinguished Entrepreneurs Awards, featuring Nollywood actor and University Lecturer, Dr Hafiz Oyetoro as a Guest Lecturer.

A statement released by the Coordinator, Training, Extension Services and Consultancy of the Centre, Mr.Olufemi Orunsola, has it that, the Management of the institution has graciously approved the hosting of the landmark entrepreneurship promotion event which aims at connecting the town-with-the-gown entrepreneurship wise.

The Training, Extension Services & Consultancy Coordinator, revealed that the Central Planning Committee(CPC) of the Campus-wide Entrepreneurship Promotion event chose popular Nollywood Actor, Dr.Hafiz Oyetoro, as the Guest Lecturer of the Maiden Made-in-Mapoly Distinguished Entrepreneurs (MMDE) Awards and Exhibitions because of his impressive entrepreneurial and academic backgrounds, noting that he represents a role model who can do justice to the theme of the event, SKILLS: NOT JUST DEGREES!

Mr. Orunsola further revealed that the Chief Executive Officer of Rite Foods Limited, Dr.Seleem Adegunwa is scheduled to be recognized as Role Model Entrepreneur of the Year, while popular Nollywood Actress and box office record breaker, Funke Akindele (Jenifa) who once studied Mass Communication at the Prestigious Polytechnic, is also one of the nominees of the MMDE Awards.

Other Awardees profiled as recipients of the MMDE Awards are: Popular Host of the Gbajumo Osere TV Show, Adedoyin Kukoyi, Veteran Broadcaster, Alhaji Ayinde Soaga, Lagos-based Lawyer, Barrister Abdul-Hafews Atanda-Shoremi, Educational Technopreneur who invented the Mobile Classroom App, Akeem Salami,  

Frontline Ogun-based Media Entrepreneur, Dr. Adeyinka Adegbite (OMO Baba Tisa), Serial Media/Entertainment Entrepreneur, Bola Solate-Ayedun, Veteran Energy Sector Journalist and Founder of Platforms Africa, Adeola Yusuf, Culture Entrepreneur/Broadcaster, Adejoke Somoye (Ewa Ede), UK-based Nigerian Food Provider, Adenike Kalejaiye,Make Over Goddess, Igwe Tessy, Popular OAP/Hypeman, Hardvantage of Africa and a host of other successful entrepreneurs who have passed through the Polytechnic.

In the Corporate brands category of the maiden Made-in-Mapoly Distinguished Entrepreneurs Awards, Mr.Orunsola added that Ogun-state based leading manufacturing company, Rite Foods Limited is targeted to headline sponsorship of the event, where the outstandingly successful brand is billed to be recognized as the Most Versatile Manufacturing Business of the Year in Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole.

The Central Planning Committee Chairman further revealed that other Corporate brands partnering with the institution to float the event are leading real estate brand, ADRON Homes, (rated as PRO-MAPOLY Employer of the year), whose Group Managing Director, Aare Adetola Emmanuel King is also scripted to be honoured as a Role Model Entrepreneur in his sectorial category. 

Similarly, Mobile Classroom Limited and DOIT Services, both into Educational Value Added Services provision, have proudly identified and partnered with Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta to float the Campus-wide Entrepreneurship Promotion event. 

An integral highpoint of the event, OTN News gathered, includes the Pre-event floating of a Free, MasterCard Foundation and Jobberman Certified 3-Day Entrepreneurship Training for 2,000 female students of the institution between Tuesday 15th and Thursday 17th October, 2024 at the OGD Auditorium in partnership with DOIT Services.

Other highpoints of the event are: Exhibitions of Businesses owned and operated by students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta and the Commissioning of a Social Entrepreneurship Solar Power System project put in place at the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (MAPCED) courtesy Entrepreneurship students of the School of Engineering of the Polytechnic and Computer Science Department by the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji who will be led by the Director of the Centre, Arc Dr. Olabisi Baiyewu for the commissioning exercise.

The maiden edition of the Made-in-Mapoly Distinguished Entrepreneurs Awards 2024 will climax with the delivery of an Entrepreneurship Development Lecture by popular Nollywood Actor and Lecturer, Dr Hafiz Oyetoro, who is expected to do justice to the theme of the event: "SKILLS! NOT JUST DEGREES!" and the presentation of awards, in various categories, to corporate brands, of students of the institution, current entrepreneurship students of the Polytechnic, as well as Entrepreneurship Facilitators in the state-owned Polytechnic.
