MAPOLY Rector Takes Re-Branding Mission to Royal Alumnus, Olota of Ota, Seeks Support for Alma mater

As part of his strategic moves towards achieving his institutional re-branding and re-positioning of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, the Rector, Arc. Dr. 'Koye Jolaoso has paid a visit to a Royal alumnus of the Polytechnic, the Olota of Ota, His Majesty, Prof Adeyemi Obalanlege, (Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode), Olota of Ota, in Ota.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports as gathered from a press release by the Public Relations Officer of the Polytechnic, Mr.Yemi Ajibola that Arc. Dr. Jolaoso led the management team on a courtesy call to the traditional ruler, who is also an ex-student of the Polytechnic, in a bid to seek support and guidance for restoration of standard operations to the 46-year old and 2nd generation institution.

OTN News further reports that the Rector, Arc. Dr. 'Koye Jolaoso, said the homage is part of the engagements with key stakeholders across the state to further mobilize support for the institution’s growth.

 While expressing his gratitude for Kabiyesi’s warm reception and unwavering support, he appealed to the royal father to encourage more alumni to contribute to the ongoing efforts aimed at enhancing MAPOLY’s development as a way of giving back to their alma mater, formerly known as Ogun State Polytechnic.

In response, the Olota of Ota congratulated Dr. Jolaoso on his appointment, describing him as a dependable ally and recalling their shared membership in the Rotaract Club and other progressive initiatives.

He also commended the Rector for his steadfastness, dedication, and selflessness, particularly his focus on effective leadership.

"Without a doubt, you will lead with excellence, and I strongly believe your team, both academic and non-academic staff will support you in achieving greater heights," said the Royal Father.

Addressing the broader challenges facing polytechnics, His Majesty emphasized the need to bridge the gap between polytechnic diplomas and university degrees, encouraging MAPOLY to aspire to university status while preserving its strong tradition of practical training.

To support the institution’s development, Olota made a donation and assured the Rector of his commitment to rallying other alumni in championing MAPOLY’s growth.
