Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede Officially Confirmed As Nigeria's Chief Of Army Staff After Rigorous Screening Process

The House of Representatives has officially confirmed Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede as the Chief of Army Staff.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News gathered that this decision came during Thursday's plenary session after the House adopted the findings of an Ad-hoc Committee tasked with screening the nominee.
Hon. Babajimi Benson (APC, Lagos), who chaired the committee, presented the report, highlighting that Oluyede had passed a detailed and thorough evaluation process.
The report praised his qualifications, professional experience, and leadership capabilities.
During the screening held on Wednesday by the Joint Ad-hoc Committee on Defence and Army, Lieutenant General Oluyede pledged his commitment to ensuring peace across the country.
OTN News further gathered that the committee also commended his deep understanding of military operations and strategic planning, demonstrated during his tenure as Acting Chief of Army Staff.
Based on these findings, the committee recommended his confirmation. After a voice vote chaired by Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Kalu, the recommendation was unanimously approved by the House.
In conclusion, the confirmation was finalized when the House, presided over by Deputy Speaker Kalu, adopted the committee's report, solidifying Lieutenant General Oluyede’s role as Chief of Army Staff.
