Include Widowers Too In Your Philanthropic Gestures -Former Governor, Osoba Tells Pelican Estate CEO, At Pelican Ecostay Apartments Commissioning

A former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba has made an advocacy for the inclusion of vulnerable widowers too among beneficiaries of philanthropic gestures by the Pelican Estate CEO, Dr.Babatunde Adeyemo via his Oko Opo Foundation. 

The former Ogun State Governor made this known during the commissioning of Pelican Ecostay Apartments at Masa village Kobape Abeokuta, noting that he is delighted with the succour given to vulnerable widows by the real estate entrepreneur over the years but would like to see him extend the same to some vulnerable widowers too.

Aremo Olusegun Osoba, who was represented by a former Federal law maker, Hon. Adekunle Adeyemi, also commended the Pelican Ecostay Apartments CEO for naming the longest road in the estate after him on account of his contributions to rural development that paved way for the location of the estate at Masa Village, noting that it gives him great delight to be so duly recognized.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA OTN News reports that indeed, Ogun State has achieved a significant milestone in the private housing sector as the Pelican Ecostay Apartments were on Wednesday September 11, 2024 commissioned with a colourful and memorable ceremony that attracted prominent Nigerians from different walks of life at home and abroad.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News further reports that the commissioning of the first ten apartments in the Dubai-Like Smart City attracted prominent Nigerians, including the Chairperson, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, former Ogun Governor, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, and other dignitaries such as Ogun State Commissioner of Police CP Abiodun Alamutu and traditional ruler HRM Oba Rotimi Oluseyi Mulero. 

The event also welcomed captains of industry, Nigerians in the diaspora, a religious leader, Sheik Ahmad Bukhari Al-Muktar, media outlets, and many Chieftains of Masa village, who hosted the Smart City housing project celebration.

In his welcome speech, the United Nations (POLAC) Peace Ambassador, Dr. Babatunde Adeyemo appreciated all the participants present at the project commissioning as well as everyone who had contributed in one way or the other towards the success story of the Smart City housing project.

Dr.Adeyemo noted that the formal commissioning of the project was "to the glory of God, adding that, we celebrate not just the completion of a physical structure, but the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of those who will call this place a home."

As reported by OTN News in other news bulletins, some of the dignitaries at the event took turns to deliver their goodwill messages, showering encomiuns on the Pelican Estate CEO for his visionary leadership, track records of integrity and honesty as well as his philanthropist gestures extended to vulnerable widows through his Oko Opo Foundation.

Highpoints of the commissioning was the unveiling of the longest road at Pelican Ecostay Apartments Estate which was named after the former Governor of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba and the naming of the Recreation Arena after a nonagenarian benefactor of the Pelican CEO, Alhaji T.I Bello.

Another significant highpoint of the project commissioning was the moment the visibly elated real estate entrepreneur led the dignitaries on an inspection tour of the Pelican Ecostay Apartments.

Other highpoints of the event was the emotional moment Dr. Adeyemo pled with the gathering to observe a minute silence in honour of his late father after which he took time to appreciate his mother who witnessed the occasion for bringing him up as a man of honour and integrity.

In all, the newly commissioned Pelican Ecostay Apartments which combine luxury with eco-friendliness has put smiles on the faces of clients as well as guests, friends, well-wishers as well as other potential customers of the Smart City housing project.
