OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that popular human rights activist, and pro-democracy campaigner, Omoyele Yele Sowore, has fired back at the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, over threats reportedly made against him for criticizing President Bola Tinubu.
OTN News has earlier reported that Wike who warned Sowore for calling Tinubu "criminal" said that he was “lucky” Tinubu is a tolerant leader, suggesting that under another president, Sowore’s criticisms could have serious consequences.
Sowore reacting to Wike's statement, took to his verified X account over the weekend, said Wike who also has history of criminal misconduct, shouldn't be seen in politic, asserting that he should face trial at the International Criminal Court (ICC).
According to him, “I heard that the FCT’s drunkard–murderer–landgrabber–thief Minister, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, said Bola Ahmed Tinubu should have assassinated me for calling him #TinubuisAcriminal. ME: If Nigerians weren’t so docile, complacent, and cowardly, criminals, thieves, and murderers like Wike would never have leadership roles.”
Sowore who further listed other criminal acts which he believes Wike his guilty of, accused Wike of land theft in Abuja, embezzlement in Rivers State, and involvement in the Obigbo massacre, insisting the minister belongs in The Hague.
OTN News observes that this exchange coincides with recent actions by the Department of Security Services (DSS) against Sowore over his social media posts, which the activist has legally challenged, citing his constitutional right to freedom of expression.
