Tinubu, Wike Not Plotting Against Sowore Life — FCT Minister’s Aide Debunks Claims

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that the Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed claims by activist and pro-democracy campaigner, Omoyele Sowore, alleging that President Bola Tinubu and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike were plotting to assassinate him.
OTN News further reports that the SSA to the FCT Minister, who disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday, described the allegations as “mind games” and an attempt by Sowore to draw public sympathy and sustain his lifestyle.
According to him, “If there is any threat to the life of Sowore, it must be from those he has blackmailed. He should leave President Tinubu and the FCT Minister out of the impending repercussions of his lifestyle."
OTN News observes that Olayinka, who insisted that neither the President nor the FCT Minister had any reason to go after the activist, advised Sowore to focus on defending himself in court against his ongoing criminal trial rather than, in his words, “making reckless allegations” against national leaders.
He further argued that Sowore’s recent criticisms of Wike were signs of desperation.
“All the noise he has been making about Wike in the last 48 hours is just part of his usual mind games. He knows the gravity of the charges against him,” he said.
Olayinka maintained that the activist’s assassination claim was baseless, stressing that Sowore was only being haunted by his history of controversies.
“His attempt to play the victim is nothing more than the last kick of a dying horse,” he concluded.
